description Season for Peak Fees: 05/15 to 09/15 Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park, located on the tranquil Van Duzen River, is a 400-acre gem of a park that has everything. The campground is set between the river and HWY 36, offering several sites with river frontage. With only 28 sites, reservations are highly recommended during the summer months. If you are interested in our group camp, please call the park directly. Grizzly Creek is also a very popular day-use park with many families returning every weekend from the surrounding areas to BBQ and swim. Our Visitor Center contains Grizzly Creek memorabilia as well as many interesting and educational displays. If you love to see animals of the redwood forest up close, you should definitely check out our museum. For hikers, Grizzly Creek offers beautiful loop trails through the old growth redwood groves, most of them climbing up out of the river gorge challenging even the experienced hikers. The weather during the summer months is just about perfect, usually ranging in the 70s and 80s. During the winter, it stays cool and wet, making it the perfect place to fish for steelhead and salmon. Though Grizzly Creek was on the closure list during the State Park budget crisis, it is now under the management of State Parks once again. Come spend a week or a weekend at Grizzly, and you will find your new favorite place to camp, any time of the year. Reservations are made through ReserveAmerica; but if you have specific questions, please do not hesitate to call us at (707) 777-3683. Check the State Parks website for additional information on the weather, suggested day hikes, or to see the park brochure, campground map, park photos, video, and more. Information available will vary from park to park. Click here Park Kiosk Hours : Hi Season: 8am-10pm Lo Season: Varies
